Hoghton Tower

Bonker*s Clutterbucks plans to take our stall to The Mechants of Hoghton Farmers Market, Hoghton Tower near Preston, every third Sunday of the month. Featured on Radio 4’s ‘The Food Programme’ it is Lancashire’s largest local producers’ market and a fantastic showcase for Lancashire produce and crafts. Hoghton Tower is an ancient fortified manor house 1565 and a spectacular location for a sunday farmers market. There are some wonderful stalls and produce ranging from meat, veg, bread, cakes, chocolate, plants, jewellery, handmade rugs and even one showing their extremely rare white bantam prizewinning cockerel.

William Shakespeare once stayed here, King James I knighted a loin of beef “Sir Loin” and Charles Dickens immortalised the tower in a short story.
