The sun was beaming, eager families turned out and experienced a variety of Giant inspired performances and activities. We made the giant iron men inspired by Ted Hugh’s The Iron Man using articulated cardboard templates and up-cycled materials. The children made an amazing assortment of imaginative models, some of which we managed to capture!
Wordpool is a free festival provided by Blackpool Council and The Grand Theatre Blackpool.

Our Art for Health group displayed their work amongst the trees and on the ground, the sun shone and we made fairies, tiny boats and houses with the many visitors. Great fun! Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped to create a magical installation in the park and to Norma and her daughter for taking charge of the fairy making!

This Saturday our groups will be taking all the work to Stanley Park to create an outdoor art installation for the Wordpool family day. We will be creating a Borrowers’ Tiny World and providing various making activities for all ages. The fun begins at 1pm so hope to see you there!
