Only a week to go until the wonderful Childwickbury Christmas Market near Harpenden and St Albans. Peter will be flying solo all weekend so come say hello to him , details below.
We got a lovely mention along with some very talented Etsy Lancashire makers who are taking part in the upcoming Etsy Made Local weekend at the Harris Art Gallery and Museum, Preston in the Christmas edition of Lancashire Life magazine p46 – 48. Crucial dates for the diary are Saturday 1st December 2018 (11am – 5pm) and Sunday 2nd (11am – 4pm) 2018 for three floors of individual stalls selling unique gifts. First 50 shoppers each day will receive a goodie bag full of discount vouchers and freebies. It’s the second year the event has taken place and judging by last year’s success it will be an amazing event and great opportunity to buy all your Christmas pressies #shoplocal #supportlocalbusinesses #lancashireetsy #etsylancashire
We are delighted to have taken part in Make It! an ACE project created by Wirral Libraries to turn libraries into creative spaces by bringing artists and eager makers together.
We worked with a wonderful group of talented ladies at Bebington library and together we took inspiration from the amazing architecture in Port Sunlight to create 3D models in card. We used the artwork to make two large collaborative pictures. Four different groups met at various libraries in the area. The work of all four individual groups will be exhibited at the Williamson Art Gallery on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November and then the work will go on display at the individual libraries.
Further to the workshops we were commissioned to create a card modelling kit which we designed around the facades of 4 different building in Port Sunlight. The limited edition of kits will go on sale this weekend at the Williamson and then at Bebington Library.
Lovely to be back at Saltaire Inspired for their November maker’s fair. Such an abundance of wonderful maker’s and their lovely makings in Victoria Hall.
Florrie and Kate spent a lovely weekend 3rd and 4th November taking part in Crafted by Hand in Masham with an array of talented makers
We are taking part in a group exhibition Northern Star at the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe which opens 29th September and runs until 8th January 2019. The exhibition will showcase the best of British making, providing inspiration for the perfect handmade gift or treat.
We have been working with a small group at Bebington Library to recreate buildings in Port Sunlight on small scale as card models using rudimentary materials and equipment that most people would have at home. The group has worked really hard and the results so far have been fabulous. Like the buildings in Port Sunlight, no two models have been the same! A very eclectic selection of houses made and I think the group have enjoyed the creative process.
