Brave shoppers shopped and the resourceful stallholders bivouacked! Treacle Market, Macclesfield is the best market in the North West and is held on the last Sunday in the month.

Treacle Market February 2014
Posted: February 24, 2014 Filed under: Treacle Macclesfield, Treacle Market | Tags: Treacle Macclesfield, Treacle Market Leave a commentFirst Treacle of the year for Bonker*s, first ever for Beanie and it was so blustery we had to tether ourselves to the trees in market square. A new and very enterprising venture “Teen Treacle” took place in the churchyard. Our girl’s made numerous sales on their own and we picked up some treasures ourselves which I just had to share! There really is something for everyone and some gems to be found!
First market of the year

Great atmosphere as always, friendly faces and lots of new things to see. Treated ourselves to some great finds from stalls and great boutique shops. Mightily impressed by the teenagers from All Hallows Catholic College who’d baked cakes, made candles, chillie oils, chutneys, fabulous nesting boxes and scrummy dog biscuits which our dog Coco Merrtyale heartily endorses! Big thank you to the lovely ladies@ Smashing Times who gave us some wonderful scalloped petit fours tins to make retablos from…..so thoughtful! We love Treacle!
Last Market of the year and what a great day it was at Treacle!

Not sure what the collective name is for market traders but what an amazing gathering of great folk with fabulous products, all set in the wonderful market town of Macclesfield. Furthermore what a fabby following of loyal supporters Treacle has each and every month without fail, rain or shine….. Thank you! Huge thanks also, to market creator and manager Jane Munroe and foodie manager Debbie Quinn for inviting us back each month.
Treacle’s First Home Produce Show 2012 – Macclesfield
Posted: October 1, 2012 Filed under: Home Produce Show, Macclesfield, Treacle Macclesfield, Treacle Market Leave a commentWe had a great day selling at Treacle market yesterday and enjoyed taking part in it’s first ever traditional home produce show. The market was bustling as always with a great atmosphere – live music, award winning food, drink, plants, vintage, furniture, prints, china and community stalls and against all forecasts the rain held off until late afternoon.
The Home Produce show took place in the church. There were some great classes including home grown veg, home grown flowers and homemade preserves and cakes and tarts made with treacle! Our girls contributed a potato bunny and an articulated carrot unicorn, called Lucille, in the create a creature out of vegetables category and came 1st and 2nd respectively! They won a free passport to Macclesfield museums for a year and some yummy chillie cupcakes which blew our socks off!
Treacle Market shortlisted for the Best Food Market in the BBC Food and Drink Awards.

Treacle Market – Macclesfield

Glorious sunshine all day and the numbers who turned out to shop were tremendous as always. Lots of great stalls with top quality food, beverages, vintage and handmade products and quirky goods. The owl man was there with his enormous eagle owl and there was morris dancing. We were very impresses by a group of enterprising youngsters (aged approx 9) who’d made macrame bracelets in red white and blue and were giving 25% of their proceeds to charity. We got to meet our lovely fb friend Hilary Cottier and her infamous wire fox terrier Tabitha who arrived in her carriage!
